Air Leakage Test for your home
An air leakage test will:
- rate your home in air changes per hour
- help determine where air leakage is occuring.
- tell you if you have reached the target set out in your energy audit report
(reach your target for a $380 rebate for those who have already had their first energy audit and still need to have their follow-up audit OR receive a $860 total rebate for acheiving 20% better than the target set out in the report).
-ultimately able you to better assess and potentially improve the comfort and efficiency of your home
Potential For Energy Savings
Air leakage can account for some 30% of heat loss in many homes. A blower door test will rate your house for air tightness and help identify the areas permitting exterior air to move into the home.
Schedule a blower door test to see if you have reached your energy audit report target (a $380 rebate) or to see if you have reached the highest target and rebate for air sealing ($860 in rebates).
The air leakage test is included in both the initial and the follow-up energy audit but also available as a seperate service.
How It Works
A large fan and temporary door are put into place and the air is blown out, depressurizing your home. Numerous readings are taken to accurately determine the rate of air movement (air changes per hour). The energy advisor and home owner then walk about the house, identifying areas of air leakage.
